About
FAQ
Q: The Process?
A: Here's a high level overview! Appointments vary based on client's age, number of clients, etc!
Schedule an appointment, discuss options, numbing cream application (optional and only availalbe for clients over one year of age), choose earrings, mark ears, do piercing! Client's are presented with a certificate of bravery and written aftercare instructions as well as aftercare solution, and CELEBRATE this big thing that they just did!
Q: Are there any restrictions?
A: Earrings must remain in for a minimum of six weeks, and earrings should be worn almost all the time for the first year.
New piercings should not be submerged in a pool for a minimum of 24-48 hours and not in a lake/stream/ocean/ body of water for two weeks.
Clients need to be over two months of age and have received their TDaP immunization.
Infection Prevention
As a Registered Nurse, infection prevention is a priority. I like to work with the client to reinforce cleanliness of their piercing, especially during the healing period. We do discuss what to do if there is irritation or infection, but we make plans to prevent that from happening in the first place.
Our Commitment to You
I am happy to answer any questions prior to a piercing. I also like to check in with the client one week after a piercing, to make sure they are comfortable with cleaning and that the piercing has begun to heal.
